Consultative workshop on the proposal of the curriculum for environmental education on the use of renewable sources, climate change and environmental protection
Within the project "Reducing the impact of local communities in the cross-border region of Serbia and Montenegro on climate challenges - WE CAN" in order to improve youth education about the environment, the project prepared a curriculum for environmental education and organized a consultative workshop "Energy efficiency and the use of solar energy to reduce the negative impact on climate change."
The workshop was held on April 8, 2021 in Berane with the possibility of online participation for interested parties. The workshop was attended by 27 representatives of ministries, secondary and primary schools, local governments, civil society organizations and other stakeholders from the cross-border area of Serbia-Montenegro.
In the introductory part of the workshop, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the curriculum proposal itself by experts hired by the Pokret gorana Vojvodine. The educational program is designed to cover 16 teaching units with a planned fund of a maximum of 29 hours. The program itself, through 16 selected teaching units, addressed the problems of climate change, renewable sources, the relationship between economic activities and climate change, and a significant segment was occupied by practical exercises aimed at encouraging, in addition to education, practical work of students related to renewable sources and to reduce electricity consumption (eg selecting the type of bulb with reference to energy consumption).
In the second part of the workshop, participants gave their suggestions and suggestions in a participatory way, as well as experiences in the educational process related to the environment.
All comments and suggestions will be considered and included in the final version of the document.
