Final conference of the project "WE CAN" in Kraljevo
Within the project "Reducing the impact of local communities in the cross-border region of Serbia and Montenegro on climate challenges - WE CAN", a closing conference of the project was realized.
During the two-day closing conference held on June 3rd and 4th, 2021 in Kraljevo, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the results of the project.
On that occasion, the representatives of the municipality of Pljevlja had the opportunity to meet with the representatives of the city of Kraljevo, led by the mayor.
In the introductory part, the mayor of Kraljevo, Dr. Predrag Terzić, and the president of the municipality of Pljevlja, Mr. Igor Golubović, as well as the project manager Dragan Roganović addressed the conference.
Then, the achievements of the project were presented by representatives of all 4 partners: Dragan Roganović (Ibar Development Association), Zoran Čolović (Grijanje doo and the Municipality of Pljevlja), Jovan Nešović, (Public Energy Company "Toplana") and Bora Ojdanić (Center for Environmental Initiative from Berane).
In the continuation of the visit, the participants visited the Public Energy Company "Toplana", where they had the opportunity to use the method of fixing the 50kW solar power plant, which was installed and put into operation within the project "We can".
In the afternoon program, a workshop "Roles of the sector in reducing the impact of the cross-border area on climate change" "Radiator" was realized, during which participants had the opportunity to define further directions of cooperation and implementation of measures that reduce the negative impact on climate change.
On the second day of the final conference, a workshop "Analysis of the effect of the project and planning of future activities and cooperation" was held, during which participants gave an opinion on the project and defined recommendations for further improvement in future projects of the project consortium.
The “WE CAN” project is co-financed by the European Union within the financial instrument of pre-accession assistance (IPA II) through the Serbia-Montenegro Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2014-2020. The contract for co-financing with European Union funds was signed with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia - Sector for contracting and financing programs from European Union funds. The project is a partnership realization of two civil society organizations and two public companies: Ibar Development Association "IDA" Kraljevo, Grijanje d.o.o. Pljevlja, Public Energy Company "Toplana" Kraljevo and the Center for Environmental Initiatives from Berane. The project is being implemented in partnership on the territory of the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro.
